Jo Firestone (TV writer, actress, game designer)
Jo Firestone is an exceptionally inventive rising star with seemingly endless energy. Jo creates more comedy stage shows to host in Brooklyn and Manhattan every month than most comics manage in a year. These imaginative productions include Punderdome 3000, The Unexpectashow, The Incredible Game Show Showcase, Friends of Single People, and The Pizza-Themed 10-Minute Play Festival.
Jo is also a TV writer & performer for Fusion TV’s The Chris Gethard Show, an actress on such hit series as Comedy Central’s Broad City, radio host of WFMU’s Dr. Gameshow, and the co-designer of bestselling board game Punderdome: A Card Game for Pun Lovers.
In our interview (currently in post-production and coming in June), Jo describes how a series of low-paying jobs at movie theatres, grocery stores, and bookshops taught her the life skills to thrive in show business.
